Dancing with the Stars launches with 645,000 people in First Show

Dancing with the stars waltzed onto our screens last night at 6.30pm on RTÉ1. A dazzling 645,000 people tuned into to watch the male contestants perform their first ever dance on the Irish edition of the series, hosted by Amanda Byram and Nicky Byrne. This was a strong start to the show, a securing a 44% share of adult TV viewers.

The fast-footed show also appeared to attract the ever hard to reach youth audiences too, achieving a 40% share of 15-24-year-old viewers and 34% share of 15-34s.

We will await what figures the female contestants can swing in for next week’s show when they dawn their dancing shoes!
